Human Development Training.

Our venture of empowerment and human development in the youth of Albania has seen very productive and dynamic sessions in the past few months. We have been working in many locations including Librazhd. This was our second event in Librazhd and this time our president of the foundation Sister Imelda Poole was present. The topic of the training was Critical Thinking and Decision Making Amongst Vulnerable Youngsters. About 30 students attended this training. The methodology used made it a very interactive and dynamic training. To close the session, Sister Imelda shared a powerful story from her experience with the youth in Albania. She highlighted the message that the youth are powerful, and that the solution is in their hands. The session was followed by a very productive meeting with the head of the school, and it seems that amazing things will happen in the future for these students and their school.

Leadership Program – A Day Full Of Positive Energy.

On June 14th, the MWL Youth Leadership Group organized a socializing activity; one day out in the Apollonia Archaeological Park in Fier. The youngsters visited the archaeological sites of Apollonia, the old Church, and the Apollonia Museum. They learned a lot about the park, its history, and were amazed by the objects displayed in the museum that were found in the park.

After the visit to the park, we headed to another activity in Lushnje. This time, their meeting was with another young group who are active in the Lushnje Youth Council. This meeting was made possible in cooperation with Peace Corps in Lushnje.

In this meeting, the youth of the MWL Leadership Program gave an awareness raising session on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery. They were the ones who moderated from beginning to end and led the group in conversation about the topic.

This was their first experience with another group of young people who are activists and leaders in their community. They were very responsive and very comfortable with their peers, spending 2 hours together.
