Mission Against
Human Trafficking

MARY WARD LORETO is planting hope with a human rights approach to combating modern day slavery. This challenging mission is implemented through works of justice, education, grass roots action and systemic change.
The aim is to eradicate poverty, the prime cause for human trafficking.

Training: “Trafficking of Human Beings: Identification of Victims and Potential Victims of Trafficking in the Health System”

Mary Ward Loreto conducted a anti-trafficking training at the Bajram Curi Hospital on June 11, 2019.

Doctors and nurses were engaged in this training, responding to the methodology with concrete cases of patients arriving at the hospital who may be potential victims of trafficking.

They expressed their willingness and commitment to develop and use the information from this training in their future work to do their part in combating human trafficking.

At the end of the training, the MWL Social Worker presented the research, “Beyond Barriers”, conducted by the Foundation, on Albanian illegal migration as one of the widespread pathways for human trafficking and exploitation.
