MARY WARD LORETO is planting hope with a human rights approach to combating modern day slavery. This challenging mission is implemented through works of justice, education, grass roots action and systemic change. The aim is to eradicate poverty, the prime cause for human trafficking.
It is national anti-trafficking month in Albania and the #URAT Network is hosting the UN GIFT BOX in the city of #Elbasan this year. It is so good to see the civil society and local authorities come together to raise awareness of human trafficking.
During the month of awareness against human trafficking, Mary Ward Loreto Foundation, in collaboration with “Different and Equal” organization held a training with Municipal Council of Tropoje on “Identification of potential victims and victims of trafficking, laws and New PSV-s ”.
The participants were informed about the phenomenon of trafficking and the importance of raising awareness and addressing cases of exploitation of human beings.
MWL and D&E awarded certificates to the participants in the training.
Communities of Lezha face many concerning issues especially related to child exploitation. The message shared in an awareness meeting with the attendants focused on parental responsibility to provide a better life for children away from exploitation.
