Human Trafficking

MARY WARD LORETO is planting hope with a human rights approach to combating modern day slavery. This challenging mission is implemented through works of justice, education, grass roots action and systemic change. The aim is to eradicate poverty, the prime cause for human trafficking.

High Level Conference Marking the 9th EU Anti-Trafficking Day.

This event took place in Brussels on the 20th of October, 2015. Mary Ward Loreto Foundation was invited to join this meeting as an active participant of the EU Civil Society Platform Against Trafficking in Human Beings (THB). The focus for this Conference was, “Time for concrete actions: Implementing the Legal and Policy Framework on Trafficking in Human beings”.The idea was to develop a policy for the implementation of the EU legal framework and policies addressing trafficking in Human Beings. This Conference marks also the EU Anti-Trafficking Day, instituted on 18th of October, 2007. This day aims to highlight the EU common commitment to eradicate trafficking in human persons. The meeting was organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of European Union. Continue Reading: Report on the 9th EU Anti-Trafficking Day.
