Albania Mission Against
Human Trafficking

MARY WARD LORETO is planting hope with a human rights approach to combating modern day slavery. This challenging mission is implemented through works of justice, education, grass roots action and systemic change. The aim is to eradicate poverty, the prime cause for human trafficking.

MWL continues the tradition of summer camp every year in Raja, in Tropoja. MWL, in collaboration with “Operazione Colomba’ Organization, led activities with the children and young people of the community.

The title of the summer camp, “Everyone can be a hero”, aims to increase the self-esteem of the children and encourage them in their role of being “agents of change” in the community. One of the activities was “Empowering through Art”, led by the MWL Social Worker. The children had the opportunity to explore their feelings and thoughts through drawing, colors, and carvings. They had fun while learning to work together in a group.
