MARY WARD LORETO is planting hope with a human rights approach to combating modern day slavery. This challenging mission is implemented through works of justice, education, grass roots action and systemic change. The aim is to eradicate poverty, the prime cause for human trafficking.

Welcome to MWL 3rd Newsletter

This short introduction is being written as some of us are gathered in Budapest for the training with RENATE Board members on Advocacy, Lobbying and Campaigning against trafficking. It is that time before Easter when we think of the suffering in our world and pray for transformation. This morning we gathered in the chapel of the Salvadorian sisters and followed the road of the Cross with Christ, exposed in our present day, with pictures of the suffering faces of the victims of human trafficking. On Feb 27th, 2016 a workshop was held in Lezhe and led by Prof. C. Lorenzo Rosseti. There were many participants from Tirana, Shkodra and Lezha, Aferdita Gjoni attended this event on behalf of Mary Ward Loreto. Those invited were various stakeholders from all spheres of society. The objective of this workshop was to deepen an awareness of the culture and real civilization values in Albania. There were presented famous people from the catholic religion who have played key roles in political life such as Thomas More from England who was declared by Pope John Paul II in 2000 as the “Heavenly Patron of Statesmen and Politicians” For more information please read the report…
